INTRODUCTION
Meet Dr. Rad.
Board-certified orthodontist. Port St. Lucie native. The doctor behind every smile at ION.
ION Orthodontics is a hometown practice.
Dr. Rad came back to her roots to build it, and that shows up in how the office feels the moment you walk in. Dr. Marcela Matamoros Radojevic (Dr. Rad for short) moved to Port St. Lucie at the age of two. She earned her bachelor's degree in Biology and her DMD from Nova Southeastern University, then completed 30 months of orthodontic specialty training at the University of Colorado Denver, where she and her husband, Stevan, enjoyed life in the mountains. After ten years of education and three years practicing in the Miami area, Dr. Rad came home to Port St. Lucie to open her own practice. She was the first dentist in her family, though not the only one for long. Two of her sisters and her brother-in-law all practice in the area now, which means most family gatherings find their way to tooth talk eventually.

And the team that makes it feel like home.
From the front desk to the chair, our people know your name and your smile. We take our time, answer your questions, and make every visit feel easy, clear, and a little warmer than you expected. We welcome kids, teens, and adults from Port St. Lucie and across the Treasure Coast, with modern care options including metal braces, 3D printed tooth-colored braces, clear aligners, always planned and supervised by Dr. Rad.
PASSION
The heart behind the credentials.

Board certified, by choice.
Dr. Rad has taken the extra step of pursuing board certification through the American Board of Orthodontics, a voluntary credential earned through rigorous written and clinical examinations, with recertification every ten years. It represents an orthodontist's personal and public commitment to the highest standards of specialty practice and lifelong learning.
Always learning. Always precise.
Dr. Rad is passionate about staying on the leading edge of orthodontics and invests time in additional training every year. Her master's thesis focused on predictable outcomes with clear aligner therapy, and she puts a high priority on finding the most efficient path to a beautiful smile without compromising the health of her patients' teeth. She believes an educated patient gets the best result, so bring your questions.

THE TEAM
The people behind the smiles.

Jaimi
Director of OperatIONs
Jaimi has spent 14 years in orthodontics, seven of them at ION, and got her start when her mom walked into an ortho office for her own interview and walked out having recruited her daughter instead. Around here she's the Chaos Coordinator: if something needs solving anywhere in the office, she's already on it. Bronx born and a Floridian for 23 years, she spends her off hours hiking, reading, dancing, and living the athlete-mom life.

Jannira
Patient CoordinatION Specialist
Jannira's ION story started in the chair: she came in as a patient and never really left, joining the team in 2021. That means she knows exactly how treatment feels from your side, and it shows in how she makes every patient feel comfortable and cared for. She's also the office photographer and videographer, always showing up, and happy to help in English or Spanish. Outside work she's a baseball mom chasing new adventures with her baby girl, and, fun fact, a licensed cosmetologist.

Jeffri
Treatment Coordinator
Known around the office as the Orthodiva, Jeffri brings 26 years of orthodontic experience and was practically here from the start: she joined when ION was five months old and Dr. Rad was still running the clinic solo, growing from lead assistant into Treatment Coordinator. What keeps her here is watching confidence grow right alongside every smile. Born in Weeki Wachee and a Treasure Coast local for seven years, she gardens, fishes, and hosts a house-divided football Sunday: her Bucs versus her husband's Dolphins.

Tori
Lead Clinical Assistant
Born and raised in Port St. Lucie, Tori followed her mom, a lead dental assistant, into healthcare and has spent nine years in orthodontics. Her favorite part is the long game: meeting kids in Phase 1 and celebrating with them years later when Phase 2 wraps. Around the office she's the one constantly organizing everything in sight, which tracks, since at home she aquascapes planted aquariums from six gallons up to 125. She was a nervous patient once too, so expect her to walk you through every step, no surprises.

DJ
Clinical Assistant
A mid-life career change brought DJ into orthodontics five years ago, and patients are glad it did. DJ's specialty is turning appointments into conversations and nerves into laughter, and the office knows to expect two constants: good jokes and good food talk. Minnesota born and fully converted to Florida life, DJ spends free time at the beach or driving to sports and activities. Iced lattes, forever and always.

Ingrid
Clinical Assistant
Ingrid started in general dentistry before finding her way to orthodontics three years ago, and her favorite ritual is pulling up a patient's before-and-after photos mid-treatment to show how far they've come. Born and raised in Puerto Rico and a Port St. Lucie local since 2019, she cares for patients in both English and Spanish. She's the calm, steady presence on the team, and off the clock you'll find her on long beach walks with her family, especially her daughter.

Addy
Clinical Assistant
Addy brings ten years of experience and DANB certification to the chair, the last five of them at ION. Originally from Haiti, she moved to the US at seven, and her son is the reason behind everything she does. Patients know her for making them feel welcome and valued from the very first visit. Outside the office she's the handy one: gardening, DIY projects, you name it. Her favorite reminder for nervous patients: this is the gentle side of dentistry.

Vanessa
Records Technician
Port St. Lucie born with family roots in El Salvador, Vanessa came to ION looking for a friendly workplace and found a family instead, proudly working alongside what she calls a team of total boss ladies. Nothing beats a braces-off reveal for her; she lives for that first look in the mirror. She assists patients in English and Spanish, and outside work she's usually behind a camera, watching movies with her husband, or making friends with every dog she meets.

Beyond the office.
Outside the practice, Dr. Rad is a proud boy mom to Luka and Maxim. She and Stevan spend most of their time chasing their young sons around, and traveling whenever they can find someone to watch the kids. Favorite trips so far: a safari in South Africa and Banff National Park in Canada.
